About Recertification
HR CERTIFICATION INSTITUTE® (HRCI®)
HRCI® certifications are valid for three years. To maintain PHR, SPHR, or GPHR credentials, HRCI requires credential holders to recertify every three years by accumulating and recording HR-related education activities. Otherwise, credential holders must retake the recertification examination to maintain their HRCI credentials.
(HR Certification Institute's® official seal confirms that The Human Equation meets the criteria for pre-approved recertification credit(s) for any of HRCI’s eight credentials, including SPHR® and PHR®.)
SOCIETY FOR HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT (SHRM)
To maintain SHRM-CPsm (SHRM Certified Professional) or SHRM-SCPsm (SHRM Senior Certified Professional) certifications, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) requires 60 Professional Development Credits (PDCs) within a 3-year recertification period that ends on the last day of your birth month. Otherwise, credential holders must retake the recertification examination to maintain their SHRM credentials.
(The Human Equation is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM-CP® or SHRM-SCP®.)
